The Interstate Environmental Commission is seeking an Environmental Analyst to serve as project manager for IEC’s Western Long Island Sound Study Monitoring Program.The incumbent will coordinate boat-based monitoring surveys, supervise field monitoring, assist with laboratory analyses, prepare and distribute data summaries and reports, as well as support IEC’s other programs related to Long Island Sound.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, earth science, environmental health, natural science, or a related field along with related professional experience. Candidates should have a strong interest in, knowledge of,and experience with water quality issues related to Long Island Sound,as well as laboratory and field quality assurance/quality control and safety procedures. A proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team is required.Position requires boat-based field work up to twice a week May through October (and at least monthly year-round), and extensive driving around the NYC metropolitan area.
