Stephen joined IEC as a Seasonal Intern in April 2021 and was promoted to Environmental Analyst in February 2022. Stephen serves as project manager of IEC's NY/NJ Harbor Monitoring Program. In the field, Stephen’s responsibilities include collecting, labeling, and transporting water samples, recording data from a multi-parameter sonde, pre-sampling calibration and post-sampling checks of sonde and field equipment. Laboratory responsibilities include use and maintenance of autoclave, calibration of various lab instruments, plates, quality assurance checks and data management. Stephen received a B.S. in Biology from the College of Staten Island, CUNY in Spring 2021 and is a Navy veteran, honorably discharged after almost five years of service. In his free time, Stephen enjoys reading, hiking, running, movies, and bird watching.
